What Inspired Dog Training By Lola?

About Lola

Probably much like you, animals have always been a crucial part of my life, happiness, and quality of existence.

I've had a special connection with dogs in particular since my early childhood.

I grew up on a farm in the Midwest, and we had a lot of dogs, many of them rescues. I started learning how to train dogs before I can remember. At age 9, I started my "formal" education as a dog trainer via my local 4-H club. It wasn't until I was an adult that I started studying dog behavior in-depth and gained an understanding that there is so much more to the human-canine bond than traditional obedience training.

Dog training is about creating a solid and lasting relationship with your dog, built on trust, respect, fairness, and mutual understanding. It's the mutual understanding part that can be trickiest sometimes. Here's the thing - dogs are brilliant communicators, and they work hard to understand us. Sometimes the reverse route of communication can be overlooked.

My mission is to help humans better understand their dog, its language, and how to best support them in your life journey together. I believe in symbiotic relationships between humans and nonhuman animals. Dogs give us so much, but sometimes, despite our best intentions, we can miss the mark in doing what's best for them.
